Dave Huber

PowerSchool data manager. I build small tools that fix the things that bug me.

I work in a K–8 school district, where I handle state reporting, student information systems and the tech that holds it all together. When I keep hitting the same annoyance in PowerSchool, I write a plugin for it. A couple of those are now free for anyone to use.

Free PowerSchool plugins

EZPeriodTimes

Shows each class's start and end time right under the class on staff Quick Lookup, Teacher Schedule and the parent portal home page. Times come from your own bell schedules and calendar, so a late-start day shows late-start times. On rotation schools, classes that don't meet today are marked "(not today)."

EZ ExportPlus

Adds a field picker above the Quick Export field box. Check the fields you want, click Insert, export as usual. No more typing field names one line at a time.

Both are read-only. They add no tables, store nothing, contact no outside servers, and come off cleanly with one click. Both are on PowerSource Exchange (login required). Provided free and as is; test on a non-production server first. Not affiliated with or endorsed by PowerSchool.

Feedback wanted

These are first releases, tested on one district's server so far. If something looks wrong, or you'd add something, tell me. Please include your PowerSchool version and browser, and please don't send student data or screenshots that show students.
